South African Football Association president Dr Danny Jordaan has thanked National Soccer League chairman Dr Irvin Khoza and his board of governors for finally putting in place a restart plan which is ‘safe and fair’.

Safa: We don’t want to be blamed for Covid-19 deaths like Ellis Park disaster

The South African Football Association (Safa) says it has to make sure that the Premier Soccer League has complied with coronavirus protocols because the association is not willing to accept the liability of a rushed restart, adding that it had learned from the Ellis Park disaster and don’t want to lose lives.

Safa provides return-to-play update

After Dr Irvin Khoza and the Premier Soccer League held a news conference on the return-to-play protocol on Monday, the South Aftican Football Association (Safa) announced its stance in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
