A star-studded FC Barcelona put on a show at a packed FNB Stadium as they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 in the Nelson Mandela Centenary Cup on 16 May 2018.

Ousmane Dembele handed Barca the lead in the third minute, cutting on to his left boot before curling the ball into the top corner after Bangaly Soumahoro made a sloppy clearance.

Seven minutes later, Luis Suarez made it 2-0 for Ernesto Valverde’s men with a low drive under Denis Onyango after being played in on goal by Denis Suarez.

Andre Gomes then made it 3-0 for the Blaugrana in the 67th minute with a clinical strike after an atrocious blind back pass from Kekana that was intercepted before being teed up for the forward to curl home.

However, Sibusiso Vilakazi pulled one goal back for Pitso Mosimane’s side 15 minutes before time, picking a bottom corner with a right-footed strike after beating the offside trap to receive Percy Tau’s well-executed pass.

There was still chances for both sides to find the back of the net in the closing stages of the game, but the score ended 3-1 to Barca in an entertaining clash at the FNB Stadium.
