Chile are sweating on an injury picked up to Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez as they prepare to face Colombia and Uruguay in upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

According to the Chilean squad, Sanchez has suffered a ‘low-grade muscle injury’ and will miss the clash against Colombia but may yet face Uruguay.

The Arsenal playmaker picked up the knock in training but it appears the injury is not enough send the star back to his club for rehabilitation.

‘The medical staff of the Chile national team inform that Alexis Sanchez has a low-grade muscle injury,’ read a statement on www.anfp.cl.

‘The player will remain in Santiago, under treatment and being evaluated for Chile’s match against Uruguay.’

Sanchez has scored eight goals in 15 matches for the Gunners this season and will be looked to lead the line when Premier League action resumes on November 19 as the London club prepare to travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Chile are fifth in their qualifying section five points behind Brazil.
