Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes his side represented the club greatly following their triumph in the MTN8 final on Saturday.

The Buccaneers walked away with the MTN8 title after they secured a narrow 1-0 victory over AmaZulu at a 50,000 crowd in the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

A 25th-minute goal by Monnapule Saleng proved to be the difference as Pirates secured their 11th MTN8 title.

Riveiro is hoping that their triumph in the MTN8 will be the start of the club claiming many more pieces of silverware on the domestic front.

“My boys were humble and hungry and worthy representatives of this great club,” said Jose Riveiro, the Spanish coach of Pirates.

“It is wonderful to lift a trophy just a few months after arriving at Pirates and I hope there will be many more successes.”
