Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says the Toyota Cup is the perfect opportunity for Amakhosi to sharpen their preparations ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Glamour Boys were beaten 3-2 on penalties by Asante Kotoko after the two sides played out a goalless draw in last season’s Toyota Cup.

Amakhosi will be aiming to make amends for last year’s disappointment when they take on Zimbabwean giants Scottland FC in the Toyota Cup in Rustenburg.

Ngcobo has called on the club’s supporters to turn out in numbers and back the team as they chase success in the 2026-27 season.

“We know the Toyota Cup is a pre-season event but it’s not an easy game,” Ngcobo told his club’s official website.

“It’s going to be difficult but we are excited to get out there and play. I’ll be happy to meet Knowledge and Khama in the game. We are ready and it should be a good spectacle for the crowd.

“To all of our football loving fans, come to the stadium to watch Amakhosi. We have missed you like you have missed us. We are back in action and ready to push for success.”
