Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze says they will continue to fight in the Betway Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup following their exit from the Nedbank Cup.

The Glamour Boys were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup following their 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in the Round of 32.

Goals from Ibraheem Jabaar and Devin Titus cancelled out Flavio Silva’s penalty at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, which saw Stellies advance to the last 16.

Kaze has since stated they are shifting their focus to doing well in the Betway Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup.

“I believe it’s the first minute that were decisive, we didn’t get into the game with the right attitude, mentality. We conceded goals that were avoidable in the first 20 minutes,” Kaze told SuperSport TV post-match.

“But as well even in the first half we got two or three one-versus-one with the keeper that we didn’t score and I will say that today was one those days where everything you do is not enough because we created a lot of opportunities in the second half.

“We hit the post two or three times and we have to keep our mental strong and to look forward to Sunday’s game which comes very fast and which is a massive game for us.”

He added, “I believe that even in the first half they scored two goals on us, we were the better team, we missed a couple of opportunities. That’s what we showed them that even in the first half we conceded two goals.

“But we have the opportunities to score three which we have to go in the second half with the right attitude, mentality and to try score that first goal in the first 16 minutes which is going to give us a boost for the remainder of the game.

“They did well in the second half, but it was an unlucky day, unfortunately we are out of this cup but we are going to fight for the rest of the season for the remaining games in the league and CAF Confederation.”
