Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has showered praise on debutant Oswin Appollis following his Man of the Match performance against his former club, Polokwane City.
Appollis got his name on the score sheet alongside Patrick Maswanganyi to hand the Buccaneers a 2-0 win over Rise and Shine in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Orlando Stadium.
The Buccaneers will now take on Mamelodi Sundowns when the two sides meet in the semi-finals of the competition.
The Bafana Bafana winger impressed on his debut and was named as the Man of the Match for his efforts against Polokwane.
“I’m happy for him, you know Appollis for a long time,” the coach told SuperSport after the game.
“When he is surrounded with good players you can even see the best of him, but not only him.
“I want to congratulate all my boys, he took the best man – man of the match because of the collective.”
