Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has resumed training following an ankle injury.

Mphahlele missed the win over Ajax Cape Town on the weekend, but the club has confirmed the South Africa international has now returned to light training.

Joining Mphahlele back on the training pitch are Enocent Mkhabela and Erick Mathoho. Mkhabela has overcome a slight injury while Mathoho returns to the squad after taking some time out following the loss of his brother.

The news of the trio’s return has been offset by an injury picked up by George Maluleka. Maluleka, who was dismissed against Ajax, has broken down with a hamstring strain.

Youngsters Luthando Sixhaso and striker Ryan Moon are said to be recovering well after knee operations.

Chiefs host Maritzburg United in a Telkom Knockout last 16 fixture on Saturday, 22 October at the FNB Stadium.
