Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Luke Shaw is ready to make his comeback against Hull City or Wigan Athletic on Thursday or Saturday respectively.

The 21-year-old left back has not figured for United since their EFL Cup victory over West Ham United in November.

The Portuguese manager has now confirmed that Shaw is fit and ready but will face tough competition with Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young for the left back position.

‘He’s ready to play so now you can find [it] natural if he plays on Thursday, he plays Sunday or next Wednesday. He’s now working without limitations so, now, he’s ready,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.

‘He is ready but it’s a position we have other options [in] too so it’s one of the positions where they have to fight, they have to compete, they have to show quality and stability in their performances to be in the team.’

Manchester United will now travel to the KCOM Stadium when they face Hull City in their EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash on Thursday.

Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
