Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that captain Itumeleng Khune and striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has been ruled out for their upcoming Carling Black Label Cup clash against Orlando Pirates.

The Amakhosi duo were forced to withdraw from the voting list as Khune is currently treating a knee tendon injury, while Caleb is out with a groin injury.

Khune and Bimenyimana also missed last Saturday’s Soweto Derby, in which Amakhosi secured the bragging right following their 1-0 win over rivals Pirates at FNB Stadium in the DStv Premiership.

Khune led the Carling Black Label Cup voting list across all participating teams by a huge margin, with almost 170 000 votes followed by Keagan Dolly, who received 65 000 votes.

Chiefs are now set to face Pirates at the FNB Stadium without the duo when they once again do battle in the latest instalment of the Soweto derby on 12 November.
