Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana wants his side to continue their home form when they welcome AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout Cup.

The Brazilians have been drawn to face Usuthu in the opening round of the Telkom Knockout Cup, which was conducted in Randburg on Wednesday.

The round of 16 is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 18-20 October, with the final scheduled for 14 December.

Kekana has warned his side not to underestimate AmaZulu under new coach Jozef Vukusic.

‘I have watched three of AmaZulu’s last matches under the new coach [Vukusic] and I can see they are playing well. When I look at that team, they are solid and dangerous,’ Kekana told the media.

‘They have good players and Bongi Ntuli is still there leading the line.’

The Sundowns skipper will be hoping his side can continue their good form on home soil after securing four wins, one draw and conceding one defeat at home so far this season.

‘We know the responsibility that we carry as a team like Mamelodi Sundowns. We just want to try and win every match that we play. It’s not going to be easy because everyone comes against us highly motivated, but we want to continue our good run,’ he added.

‘But we are playing at home in this TKO fixture and we have been doing well at home so far this season and the plan is to continue with the same momentum. It would be nice to win this one in our own backyard.’
