Egypt captain Mohamed Salah says he is unsure whether this World Cup will be his final appearance for the Pharaohs.
The Pharaohs’ journey at the World Cup came to an end after they conceded a 3-2 defeat against Argentina at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Salah played a crucial role in helping his side get this far in the tournament, having scored one goal and registered two assists in five appearances.
He stressed that representing Egypt has always been a privilege and hopes his career inspires young people to dream big.
“I don’t know whether this is the last dance, but it’s always been an honour to wear this shirt,” Salah said.
“I hope I can inspire people – particularly children – to believe they can go far.
“I hope they see me as a source of inspiration. Success is not reserved for one person, and someone else’s success does not diminish my own.”
“I don’t know whether this is the last dance.”
