Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has warned his side not to become complacent when they take on Curacao in their World Cup Group E opener.
The German side are set to welcome debutants Curacao in their opening match when they meet at the NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas.
Die Mannschaft will look to start their campaign on a positive note against a team with the ‘underdog’ tag.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has warned against complacency ahead of his side’s World Cup campaign, insisting that being labelled favourites guarantees nothing.
The German tactician stressed that his team will only achieve success if they deliver a near-perfect performance.
“This is a German Cup situation. David versus Goliath,” said Nagelsmann.
“You never win a match just because you’re favourites. We will win a match only if we produce a perfect performance.
“We’re going to try to show our best level.”
