France head coach Didier Deschamps insists there is still plenty to play for despite missing out on the World Cup final.
Les Bleus were eliminated from the tournament at the semi-final stage after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spain at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
France will now take on England when they meet in the Third-place playoffs at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Deschamps insists this is not a friendly match and is determined to end their campaign on a positive note in the third-place playoff.
“This is not a friendly match and it’s not the game we would have preferred to be playing, but it’s there,” Deschamps told FIFA.
“There is a third place to go and get, and it is my duty, together with my staff, and the players have that duty as well, to do everything we can to achieve that final objective.
“It is certainly less important, but I’ll say it again: we’re here.”
