Kaizer Chiefs have failed to register 2018 COSAFA Cup Player of the Year Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana despite the confirmation of his unveiling.

The Amakhosi announced that they had acquired the services of the attacking midfielder from Malagasy club Fosa Juniors on a two-year deal earlier this month.
However, prior to the deal being completed, Fosa Juniors reportedly tried to stop the player’s move citing that he was still contracted to the club.

The club’s spokesman Ando Harivola then revealed that the news of the player’s reported move came as news to him.

The matter was seemingly resolved after Dax joined up with his new teammates at Naturena. Chiefs are said to have snapped him up on a free transfer, because the Malagasy league is an amateur competition and therefore no fee was needed to sign a player from one of their clubs.

However, on Friday media reports indicated that the 27-year-old had in fact not signed with the club and hasn’t been registered with the PSL for the 2018-19 season thus far.

If Dax is indeed a free agent, the Soweto giants will be in no rush to complete his signing given that he can be registered anytime after the closure of the PSL transfer window which was on 31 August at 11:59pm.
