Less than a week after having been sanctioned by the PSL DC, Kaizer Chiefs are set to hand over R200 000 as part of their punishment following the Chippa United incident.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to feel the financial pinch of their fans’ actions after the latest spat of hooliganism to strike the PSL.

The club were sanctioned last week following the match against Chippa United where Chiefs were found guilty on charges of spectator misbehaviour resulting from the club’s failure to provide adequate security during their clash against the Chilli Boys.

In terms of the finding, Chiefs were fined Kaizer Chiefs were fined R250 000 with R200 000 being suspended on condition that the club was not found guilty of a similar offence during the next 24 months.

After forking out R50 000, the club’s fans have now cost their team the rest of the Chippa fine with further sanctions to likely follow in the wake of their latest transgression in Durban.

The South African Police Service has confirmed the arrests of two individuals involved in the fan violence at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
