Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has praised attacking midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba following his performance against Richards Bay in the semi-final of the Carling Knockout Cup.

The Buccaneers advance to the final of the knockout competition after claiming a 1-0 win over the Natal Rich Boys through a goal from Tshepang Moremi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Kwayiba was introduced in the 68th minute when he came on to replace Yanela Mbuthuma.

Ouaddou has since explained his decision to bring on Kwayiba and went on to praise the midfielder for his performance to help the team reach the final.

“Yes, like I told you I wanted to bring some fresh legs on the team,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV after the game.

“I think the boys did well, but we’ve seen with the staff that we needed to sweep make some changes in order to be more offensive.

“We decided to bring Rele and one changes that people maybe didn’t expect was Kwayiba because we saw that the central defenders were coming with the ball and trying to break the lines so we needed somebody to make the pressing there and Kwayiba did a fantastic job.”
