Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis says he does not feel like he deserved the Man of the Match award following their triumph in the Carling Knockout Cup.
The Buccaneers lifted the Carling Knockout Cup trophy following their 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Their triumph in the knockout competition is their second piece of silverware after they clinched the MTN8 trophy earlier this season.
Appollis, who was named Man of the match, is honoured to have won the award but felt his teammates deserved it more than him.
“We have to thank the man above to make the win today, and what can I say the boys we fought today and first of all I want to thank the fans who voted for me,” Appollis told SuperSport TV after the game.
“But I think there’s players that deserved it more today because it wasn’t my best game. But like I said thank you to the fans.
“Yes, we have been putting in the work to reach the final, the boys fought today like I said and even in the other previous matches the boys fought but like I said before I don’t think I deserved it today, but thank you to the fans.”
