Kaizer Chiefs head coach Khalil Ben Youssef felt his side deserved a draw against Al Masry SC in their opening match of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

The Soweto giants fell to a 2-1 defeat against the Egyptians at the Suez Stadium on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to bounce back and return to winning ways when they take on Zamalek in the next match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Ben Youssef has stressed the importance of learning from their experience against Al Masry as they prepare for the next encounter against Zamalek.

“This was the first time that more than 80 percent of our players experienced this level of continental football,” Ben Youssef told his club’s official website.

“It’s very different from the PSL. Here you must be more focused, more aggressive.

“At this level, matches are decided by very small details. If you lose concentration for even one second, you can concede.

“Looking at our performance, we deserved a minimum of a draw.

“But we have to learn from our mistakes. We’ll analyse the game, look at the positives and the negatives, and continue to work.”
