Kaizer Chiefs winger Asanele Velebayi says the confidence is high within the squad ahead of their Betway Premiership showdown against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Glamour Boys are preparing for a tough test against the Brazilians when they square off in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Amakhosi head into the fixture high in confidence after they secured back-to-back Betway Premiership victories over Kruger United and Sekhukhune United.

Velebayi believes the Amakhosi are in the right frame of mind ahead of their Betway Premiership showdown against Mamelodi Sundowns.

“For me, coming from a decent pre-season I would say – continuing to look forward and looking forward to build from [the start we’ve had],” he said.

“We’re playing against the African champions so it’s going to be rough, but we have confidence from our last game.

“The confidence is high; the mentality is right because we know what is required.

“The pressure is there, we need to stay calm throughout the game, stick to the game plan, put the team first and approach the game with the right mentality.”
