Mamelodi Sundowns defender Keanu Cupido admits he felt a lot of pressure to prove himself at the club.

Cupido arrived at the Brazilians halfwaythrough the 2024-25 season after joining the club from Cape Town City FC.

The 27-year-old went on to feature four times for the Tshwane giants while also featuring thrice in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Bafana Bafana defender has since opened up about making the move to Sundowns.

“Coming in midway through the season, there was pressure to prove myself, especially at a Club with such high standards,” Cupido said.

Over the course of his career, Cupido has played for Diambars FA, Bidvest Wits, AC Ajaccio B, and Cape Town City, having made 149 appearances while scoring one goal and registering three assists.
