Stellenbosch FC have continued to strengthen their squad after acquiring the services of midfielder Thapelo Mokobodi.
The 23-year-old joins the club after spending two seasons with Marumo Gallants.
The central midfielder played his part to help Gallants secure promotion to the Betway Premiership and was a crucial part of the squad that finished 10th in the league during the 2024-25 season.
Mokobodi is now expected to wear the No. 29 jersey for the Maroons for the 2025-26 season.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play for Stellenbosch Football Club,” Mokobodi told his club’s official website.
“It’s a dream come true for me to be here because Stellenbosch has become one of the biggest clubs in the country and competes for silverware in all the big tournaments.
“It was an easy decision to join the club. I believe they suit my style of play and that I’m going to really enjoy playing my football here.
“Stellenbosch has signed a soldier who will give his all for the club, and I can’t wait to show those qualities to the supporters and play in front of our home fans.”
