Stellenbosch FC have further strengthened their squad after completing the transfer of right-back Thabiso Lebitso.

The Maroons completed the permanent transfer of Lebitso after he parted ways with Orlando Pirates.

Lebitso has signed a long-term deal with the club and reunites with head coach Gavin Hunt, having previously worked together during their time at Chippa United.

The 34-year-old brings a wealth of experience having previously played for Tshwane University, Chippa United and Orlando Pirates.

He has scored three goals and registered five assists in 126 appearances across all competitions over the course of his career.

“We are pleased to welcome Thabiso to the Cape Winelands,” Stellenbosch FC CEO, Rob Benadie, said.

“He is a player who has consistently demonstrated his quality at the highest level of South African football and brings a valuable mix of experience and versatility to our squad.

“As a Club, we continuously aim to improve and compete at the highest level, and the addition of a player of Thabiso’s calibre strongly reflects that ambition.”
