New Orlando Pirates signing Sebastian Pedersen has described his move to the Buccaneers as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”.

The Norwegian striker arrives at Pirates after an impressive spell with Sogndal, where he scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

The 27-year-old joins the club after signing a two-year contract, with an option to extend his stay by a further year.

Pedersen revealed he was initially uncertain about making the switch to South Africa, but after learning more about Pirates and the country, his excitement grew, while expressing gratitude to Sogndal for helping make the transfer possible.

“This feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Pedersen said.

“It’s such a big club that I couldn’t help but seize the opportunity when it came.

“At first I was a little skeptical, but the more I’ve learned about the club and life in South Africa, the more excited I’ve become.

“I’m very grateful that Sogndal came to an agreement with Orlando Pirates.”
