AmaZulu have strengthened their squad after completing a move for former Orlando Pirates winger Neo Mokoena.

The 23-year-old arrives at the club after he parted ways with the Buccaneers as he goes in search of more game-time.

He becomes the club’s second signing behind Siyabonga Mtombeni, who joined the club from Upington City.

“I’m grateful to join AmaZulu and thankful to the club for giving me this opportunity,” said Mokoena.

“The atmosphere at training has been amazing. The guys have welcomed me really well, and the intensity is on another level. It’s my first time competing at this level, so I’ll continue working hard and pushing myself every day.

“I’m finding my feet with my new teammates bit by bit. My goal is to help the team in every way I can. I’m a winger who enjoys taking on defenders. Dribbling is one of my biggest strengths, and I have good pace. I enjoy expressing myself on the ball, and that gives me confidence.”

He added: “I would like to thank our Chairman, Mr Sandile Zungu, the entire club and everyone who made this move possible. I’m looking forward to working with Coach Arthur Zwane, my teammates and the technical team.”

“To the AmaZulu supporters, I promise to give my all every time I wear this badge. I can’t wait to get started and make you proud.”
