AmaZulu have strengthened their squad by acquiring the services of midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo.
The 24-year-old joins the club as a free agent after he was released by Richards Bay at the end of last season.
Mhlongo spent three seasons at the Natal Rich Boys, where he scored one goal in 65 appearances across all competitions.
Prior to joining the Kwa-Zulu Natal outfit, Mhlongo has played for amateur sides Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal.
“I feel happy and honoured to play for a club I grew up wanting to represent — a club like AmaZulu Football Club,” Mhlongo said.
“I kindly ask for the supporters’ backing; I am ready to give my all to help the team achieve its objectives.
“I look forward to playing alongside my new teammates and working with coach Arthur Zwane and his technical team.
“I would also like to thank my previous club for everything they did for me.”
Usuthu released the following statement on the matter, which reads:
AmaZulu Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of KwaMashu-born attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo, who joins Usuthu on a permanent deal as a free agent.
The 24-year-old arrives after spending four seasons with KwaZulu-Natal neighbours Richards Bay FC.
Mhlongo was officially welcomed to the Usuthu family by Club President Sandile Zungu at the AmaZulu Fan Experience, where excitement filled the air. He will be donning jersey number 3 this season.
Before his professional spell with the Natal Rich Boys, Mhlongo honed his talent with local amateur sides Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal.
