Kaizer Chiefs defender Aden McCarthy has opened up on his partnership with Inacio Miguel in the heart of the Amakhosi defence.
The Soweto giants began their 2025-26 campaign on a positive note after they secured a 2-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium on Sunday.
McCarthy has started to form a great partnership with Miguel after they played a crucial role in helping Amakhosi keep a clean sheet against Stellies.
The 21-year-old, who was named Man of the Match, believes his side are in the right frame of mind to walk away with all three point.
“Honestly, this was a tough season opener. Stellenbosch are not easy opponents, but we came here with the winning mentality we built up in the Netherlands (on pre-season training camp), and we showed it today,” McCarthy told his club’s official website.
“Miguel has helped me and as much as he’s helping me, I’m helping him. Communication is the key to a strong defence.
“We will keep the same mentality of going for three points.”
