Marumo Gallants FC interim coach Trevor Mathiane has emphasised the importance of capitalising on opportunities when facing top sides like Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa suffered back-to-back defeats in the Betway Premiership following their 3-1 loss to Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.

The defeat sees Gallants remain in 14th place on the table with 18 points from 22 matches.

Mathiane expressed pride in his Gallants squad despite a tough result, praising the players for executing his game plan and giving their all on the pitch.

“Yes, actually I’m very happy with the boys they played very well,” Mathiane told SuperSport after the game.

“They gave everything that I told them to do just that we were unlucky, we created a lot of chances. We were supposed to convert chances.

“When you play against teams like Chiefs, Sundowns – the little chances you get you must make use of it.”
