Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe has humbly credited his teammates for their collective effort, while emphasising the unity and fighting spirit within the squad.
The Glamour Boys claimed a comeback victory when they secured a 3-1 win over Orbit College at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Gqeberha.
The victory sees Chiefs move up to third place in the Betway Premiership standings with 39 points from 21 matches.
Maboe highlighting their resilience and belief in turning the game around after falling behind.
“I’m just a mere recipient honestly of this award,” Maboe told SuperSport TV after the game.
“This goes to the hard work that we’ve been putting in with the team. Helping one another, helping in the same direction and I just happened to receive the award, but great work by my teammates and of course when you go 1-0 down, it can be quite a difficult task to get yourselves back.
“I think we all knew that we were going to start the game off. It was a matter of just saying, Hey gents ‘let’s wake up’ you know, let’s just get that first goal.
“I think we noticed that they were getting a bit tired in the second half, so we just told ourselves that, you know what? Let’s not give up. Let’s just keep on fighting more and just keep on demanding more from one another.”
