Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is confident his side have the quality to ‘bring home the gold’ ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

South Africa wrapped up their final preparations for the AFCON following their 1-0 win over Ghana at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Bafana will now turn their attention to the AFCON, where they have been drawn in Group B alongside the likes of Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe.

Broos’ men will face Angola in their opening match in the group when the two sides meet at the Stade de Marrakech on Monday, 22 December.

“I think we did it very well two years ago at AFCON, and I think we can’t be happy if we don’t come back with the same result. I think this year we have to go even more,” he stated.

“But this is the tournament that is very difficult, but I think we have the qualities to do it. We will try to bring gold.”
