Bafana Bafana defender Aubrey Modiba insists his side must sharpen up defensively ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 clash against Cameroon.

South Africa and Cameroon will both be looking for a win when they meet at the Stade El Barid in Rabat on Sunday evening.

Bafana made their way to the last 16 after they finished in second place in Group B with six points from three matches.

Modiba has urged his side to lock up their defence after conceding four goals in their last three matches.

“We have conceded in every game that we have played, we must just make sure we concede less and score more goals,” Modiba told SABC Sport.

“We haven’t scored too many goals, and I think those are the things that we must work on going into the next round.

“Hopefully we can rectify that and make sure that we go all the way. But it gets tougher and tougher now, I don’t want to lie.”
