Bafana Bafana put in a dominant performance to claim a 3-1 victory over Zambia in a friendly international at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.

South Africa and Zambia got off to a slow start, with both sides trying to find their rhythm in the opening exchanges of the game.

Bafana opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Oswin Appollis was played through on goal before slotting the ball home with a brilliant finish to make it 1-0.

South Africa were able to hold on to their lead until the half-time break.

Bafana doubled their lead just after the hour mark when substitute Mohau Nkota latched on to a through ball before beating his marker to curl the ball into the corner.

South Africa added a third goal in the 67th minute when Siphephelo Sithole headed the ball home from a resulting corner to make it 3-0.

Zambia managed to pull a goal back late in the second half, but it was not enough, as Bafana held on to secure a 3-1 win.
