South Africa played out to a 1-1 draw against Panama after Appollis cancelled out Yoel Barcenas’ opener at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The 24-year-old has now taken his goal tally for Bafana to eight goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
The Orlando Pirates attacker acknowledged missed opportunities proved costly, but remains confident the team will sharpen up in training and bounce back stronger in their next outing.
“I just want to say congrats to the team, we wanted more, we wanted to win the game but unfortunately we came up with a draw,” said Appollis.
“It was just unfortunate that the opportunity I got and most of the guys, we didn’t take it but we will definitely do our best at training, work on it and get ready for the next game.”
