Amajita bounced back to secure their first win in the U20 FIFA World Cup following their 5-0 hammering of New Caledonia at the Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua.

South Africa broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Siviwe Nkwali headed home a cross at the near post from Langelihle Phili to make it 1-0

They doubled their lead in the 34th minute when Shakeel April converted from the spot-kick after Siviwe Magidigidi was brought down in the area.

Magidigidi then completed a double after he found the back of the net in the 44th and 52nd minutes to make it 4-0.

South Africa put the game beyond New Caledonia in the 80th minute when Lazola Maku slotted in Amajita’s fifth goal after being set up by Jody Ah Shene.

Amajita will look to build on this performance when they take on the United States at the Estadio El Teniente on Sunday evening.
