Amajita have qualified for the FIFA-U20 World Cup last 16 following their 2-1 win over the United States at the Estadio El Teniente in Chile.

The United States opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute after Noah Cobb headed the ball home from a free-kick.

South Africa levelled matters five minutes later when Siviwe Magidigidi headed the ball home at the near post to make it 1-1.

Amajita completed their comeback on the stroke of half-time when Mfundo Vilakazi picked out Gomolemo Kekana, who calmly slotted the ball home from close range.

Raymond Mdaka’s side held on to their 2-1 until the final whistle to claim the win and book their place in the quarter-finals.

The win saw South Africa finish in second place in Group E, level on six points with first placed United, who both qualified for the next round of the tournament.
