CRAIG LEWIS picks a form South African XV based on performances in round 15 of Super Rugby.

This past weekend once again proved to be all about the class of the Lions as they romped to a whopping 94-7 win over the Sunwolves.

In particular, there were standout performances from Ruan Combrinck, who scored a hat-trick, while flanks Jaco Kriel and Kwagga Smith completed a brace. The Lions pack also completely dominated at scrum time.

Understandably then, this week’s form XV team is laden with Lions players, but one cannot discount the performance of the Bulls in Durban on Friday night, with the Pretoria-based side securing an impressive 30-17 victory.

From an individual perspective, no player stood out more than Warrick Gelant and Jan Serfontein, both of whom played key roles in the victory.

Cheslin Kolbe also starred as the Stormers beat the Cheetahs 40-34 in Bloemfontein on Saturday, with the flyer just edging Combrinck in terms of selection on the right wing, while Makazole Mpimpi made his presence felt in the Kings’ 31-30 upset win over the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.
