The Lions will be without flank Cyle Brink when they host the Reds on Saturday, while there is also uncertainty over the availability of prop Dylan Smith.

Brink had earned his first start of the season against the Jaguares on Saturday, but he had to leave the field early due to a left shoulder injury. The extent of the injury has not yet been revealed, but the Lions confirmed the 23-year-old will miss the match against the Reds at Ellis Park.

Smith is also nursing a shoulder injury which he sustained in the same game, but the Lions are hopeful that the player will recover in time to the face the Reds. Smith will be assessed later in the week to determine whether or not he is available for selection.
