Eddie Jones wants England to make history when they play the Springboks in a three-Test series in South Africa next June.

England have only won three of their 13 Tests against the Boks in South Africa – in 1972, 1994 and 2000.

In 2012, they lost a three-Test series in South Africa 2-0 after the third Test was drawn.

However, England will be confident of winning next year’s series. They are ranked second in the world, having won 22 of their 23 matches under head coach Jones, while the Boks have slumped to sixth, having won just 11 out of 25 under Allister Coetzee.

‘A three-Test series against South Africa is going to be a big challenge but a fantastic opportunity for this team,’ Jones told England Rugby’s website.

‘England have only ever won three games in South Africa so we have a chance to create some history by winning the series.’
