The Hollywoodbets Sharks are pleased to welcome English giants Saracens to Durban for an exciting pre-season tour, which will culminate in a friendly fixture played as a curtain-raiser to the Carling Currie Cup clash at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Friday, 5 September at 16h30.

The match will bring together two of world rugby’s most recognised clubs, providing an invaluable opportunity for both squads to test themselves ahead of the new season.

While the fixture is a major highlight, the tour extends far beyond the 80 minutes of rugby. Both The Sharks and Saracens will collaborate during the week across several key areas of the game.
This knowledge exchange underscores the ambition of both clubs to remain at the forefront of rugby’s evolution.

Off the field, the partnership will also carry strong commercial and cultural elements.

Durban provides the perfect backdrop, with players set to enjoy a uniquely South African experience. Both teams will further engage in community-focused initiatives, reinforcing rugby’s role in driving positive social impact.

“The opportunity to host Saracens here in Durban is one that we value immensely,” said The Sharks CEO, Shaun Bryans. “Not only does this match give our players a high-quality challenge as we prepare for the season, but it also deepens our relationship with Saracens, a club that shares our vision for innovation, excellence and making a meaningful impact both on and off the field.”

For supporters, the tour provides a rare opportunity to witness two distinct rugby cultures and styles come together in preparation for their respective campaigns.
