Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has warned his team not to underestimate Argentina in Mendoza on Saturday. 

Erasmus said Los Pumas had a few missed opportunities during their 34-21 defeat in Durban last week but that things could be different on their own turf.

‘They are dangerous all over the field. Agustin Creevy and all three of their loose forwards are wonderful at the breakdown and as ball carriers, they have fast wingers and an attacking centre.’

Front rowers Malcolm Marx and Steven Kitshoff echoed Erasmus’ sentiments.

‘[Playing] here is a bit more emotional than in any other country, but we’re focusing on ourselves and preparing to the best of our abilities so that we can be better this weekend,’ Marx said.

‘It’s going to be a tough, physical battle. Argentina have always been one of the more physical packs to scrum against through the years and it’s no different now, they have a scrum,’ said Kitshoff. ‘We worked hard on our scrums this week and we’re up for it.

‘It’s important to make an impact coming off the bench, especially in the first five to 10 minutes. [As a substitute] you have to make a difference and inject a bit of energy and physicality.’
