Torsten van Jaarsveld is set to captain the Cheetahs in the absence of the injured Francois Venter for Saturday’s Pro14 derby against the Kings.

Venter has been ruled out with a neck injury, while William Small-Smith is also unavailable due to a knee injury, which has left the Cheetahs with a midfield conundrum.

However, Clinton Swart and Clayton Blommetjies should be available after missing last weekend’s clash against Treviso due to illness. Loose forward Henco Venter is also available for selection after recovering from a concussion.

Meanwhile, the Kings could be boosted by the return of captain Michael Willemse for this weekend’s encounter in Port Elizabeth, although there are a couple of other injury concerns.

Hooker Stephan Coetzee has been battling with a back injury, while flyhalf Kurt Coleman picked up a knee injury against Edinburgh last weekend.
