A code of conduct hearing to determine the future of Wallabies fullback Israel Folau will be held on 4 May.

Rugby Australia confirmed on Monday that the hearing will be held at its headquarters in Sydney, and will be heard by a three-member panel consisting of John West, Kate Eastman, and John Boultbee.

A reserve day on 5 May has also been set aside in the event that the hearing is required to extend to a second day.

COLUMN: Allow Folau to express religious views

Folau was stood down by Rugby Australia and the New South Wales Rugby Union on 12 April, and served a notice of termination following his latest controversial social media posts in which he targeted ‘drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators’ and warned: ‘Hell awaits you’.

His employers deemed Folau’s actions as a high-level code of conduct breach. The 30-year-old was given 48 hours to accept the sanction or have the matter referred to a code of conduct hearing, which he ultimately opted for.
