Dropped Springbok utility back Curwin Bosch will not be considered for the Sharks’ next Currie Cup match against the Free State Cheetahs.

The 20-year-old made his Test debut in Port Elizabeth and then travelled with the team to Salta. On Tuesday, however, Bok coach Allister Coetzee confirmed that Handré Pollard, rather than Bosch, will tour Australasia as the team’s second-choice flyhalf.

‘There are a few things that he has been prepped on, and we’d like to see him getting that right in the Currie Cup,’ said Coetzee. ‘You can see the confidence oozing out of him after a couple of weeks with the Boks.’

The youngster will have to wait another week to play for the Sharks, though. According to Netwerk24, Bosch missed the Sharks’ training sessions on Monday and Tuesday – while he was travelling back from Argentina with the Boks – and will not be considered for the game against the Cheetahs on Saturday.

A Sharks spokesperson told the website that Bosch will be eligible to play in the following game against the Pumas.
