Reigning World Champions, Australia showed their dominance to secure a 64–53 win over South Africa in Bendigo, Australia on Saturday.
The SPAR Proteas and Aussie Diamonds have previously met 46 times but the Australians are yet to suffer a defeat against the South Africans.
Australia’s record against South Africa remains unblemished after they recorded their 47th straight win following their victory in Bendigo.
“I’m just really grateful to be back in the green and the gold,” MVP Courtney Bruce said in her post-match interview.
“It’s been a tough 18 months but to do it with this incredible bunch of girls and to know they back me in, you can’t get intercepts without the work out the front so this is all on them.
“I no longer feel 31 – I feel a bit younger (laughs).
“I’m really grateful to be back out there.”
