Mamelodi Sundowns right back Siyanda Zwane insists that their hard work on the training ground made them deserved winners of the PSL and Telkom Knockout this season.

The Brazilians, who beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the Telkom Knockout final in December, claimed Premiership honours with a record 71 points from 30 matches; 14 points clear of runners-up Bidvest Wits.

The 31-year-old insists that the team’s hard work is behind the success they have achieved on the field this season, reports KickOff..

‘To be where we are we have earned this and we really did work hard.’ said Zwane.

The right back revealed the daily routine of the champions which included gym, training and video sessions to analyse the opposition; insight which goes some way to explaining their organisational brilliance on both defence and attack.

‘When you have a wife you end up fighting with her and sometimes you have been away for four days and when you arrive back home, you are watching matches that you played,’ added Zwane, highlighting his teammates’ commitment to the cause.

‘You want to analyse them and you want to make notes because you want to improve every game and end up not having her time so we truly worked hard. It was not like finish training and go home … no.’

Following their reinstatement into the Caf Champions League, the Chloorkop-based side will be hard at work in order to make the most of their continental lifeline.

Pitso Mosimane’s men will begin their Group B with an away fixture against ES Setif on June 18.
