Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he has faith that Ivorian forward Yannick Zakri can deliver goals for the club this season.

The 25-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Brazilians after impressing for continental giants ASEC Mimosas.

Zakri was in attendance when Sundowns beat SuperSport United 3-1 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the MTN8 quarter-finals, according to KickOff.com.

Mosimane says he is looking forward to seeing the Ivorian play and has faith that he can score goals in the continental competition.

‘I am excited. I am waiting to see him play,’ Mosimane said.

‘I hope he scores the goals he scored in the Caf Champions League.’

Mosimane insists that his side’s participation has opened their eyes to seeing all the talents Africa has to offer.

Downs’ participation in the CAF Champions League has opened their eyes to the talent in Africa.

‘The Champions league has opened doors for us to see good players in Africa like (Orlando Pirates newcomer) Bernard Morrison,’ he added.

‘He is unbelievable and gave us problems in Kinshasa. Very beautiful player but we can’t have everybody.’

Mamelodi Sundown will now take on Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium in the Absa Premiership on September 14.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
