Bidvest Wits attacking midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi has allegedly told his colleagues he is set to depart the club for Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 26-year-old has long looked destined to quit Braamfontein and the Bafana Bafana star now finally looks poised to complete his move to the Brazilians.

‘Vila’ has been a Clever Boy since he was a youngster having risen through the club’s youth ranks before debuting as a 19-year-old back in 2009. But now his tenure at the club looks to have come to an end.

The player reportedly told colleagues on Wednesday that he would not be returning train with the side and with Sundowns set to return from a successful trip to Egypt, the midfielder may well turn out at the Chloorkop side’s next training session instead, reports SoccerLaduma.

Vilakazi’s has still not reached completion as the two clubs have yet to agree on the finer points of the deal as well as who precisely will form part of the proposed swap.

The conduct of the player, however, suggests an agreement is imminent.
