Eric Tinkler is delighted that his Cape Town City star Lebohang Manyama is fit for the side’s clash with Kaizer Chiefs.

Manyama made his return from a long injury layoff as he played the final half-hour of his side’s 2-0 victory over Polokwane City.

‘Lebo has been out with an injury and the whole of the pre-season,’ Tinkler told KickOff. ‘He broke three meniscus about 28 weeks ago and his recovery has been slow since I have been at the club.’

Manyama has been named his side’s new captain for the 2016-17 season having joined club following a loan spell at precursor club Mpumalanga Black Aces from Supersport United last season.

‘It was bit of a risk to be honest playing him as I did. I thought I could use him for 20 or 25 minutes but we ended up bringing him on with 36 minutes still to play,’ Tinkler added.

‘He came through unscathed which is good for us and now it will help him with preparation going to the game against Chiefs.’

Manyama made 17 appearances for Black Aces last term, scoring twice and assisting four times.
