Mamelodi Sundowns communications coordinator Thulani Thuswa explains why the club will use Loftus Versveld Stadium for their home matches this season.

The Absa Premiership champions are returning to Loftus after playing their home games at the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the whole of the 2015-16 season.

‘Loftus has always been our home, but due to rugby we couldn’t play all our games there,’ Thuswa told KickOff.com.

The Brazilians’ communications coordinator insists that moving back to the stadium makes it easy for supporters to come out and support the team, as it’s a more ‘convenient’ for them.

‘For people who come from places like Mamelodi township it becomes easy for them to attend night games as they can easily go to Loftus straight from work.

‘But when we play at Lucas Moripe some people have to start at home before going to the stadium for a midweek fixture. So in other words, Loftus is more convenient.’

SuperSport United will now continue to be based at Lucas Moripe Stadium for the 2016-17 season.
