Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Enocent Mkhabela admits there is a lot of competition for a spot in the Amakhosi first team.

The 27-year-old was one of eight players unveiled by the Glamour Boys recently including the likes of Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Keagan Buchanan, and Sibusiso Khumalo.

The former SuperSport United midfielder insists Amakhosi has an array of quality players in the squad, who are tough competition for regular playing time in the team.

‘There is a lot of quality in the team,’ Mkhabela told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

‘The competition is high here, the guys are taking their job serious at Chiefs.’

After being warmly welcomed to the club, Mkhabela says that the Glamour Boys set-up is very professional, insists that the players know how to handle new signings.

‘Everybody welcomed the new players warmly. The set-up here is professional and the players know how to deal with the newly signed ones,’ the midfielder added.

Mkhabela also spoke about his admiration for the one-time Chiefs midfield Tinashe Nengomashe.

‘I always admired Tinashe for his immense work rate. As a youngster I always wished to play for Chiefs. Tinashe’s role inspired me to work hard to reach my goal of becoming an Amakhosi,’ he added.

‘I am very excited to be part of Chiefs. I wish to repay the club with hard work and dedication to my work.’

Last season for Matsatsantsa, Mkhabela could only managed to feature 12 times in all competitions for United.
